Springfield Reformed Church!

On more than one occasion, we have heard people ask, “What does the word ‘Reformed’ mean in Springfield Reformed Church?” Let us explain. The word ‘Reformed’ finds its roots in the 16th century Protestant Reformation—a time when the Church was re-formed in order to once again be conformed to the teachings of Christ and the Bible. It was a time of great upheaval in the church but it was also a time of much needed transformation that produced many outstanding statements of faith.

We believe the need for transformation still continues. In an age of unbelief and immorality outside of the church and doctrinal ignorance in the church, we desire the pursuit of modern reformation. We invite you to further discover the riches of the Reformed tradition of the Christian faith!

Quote of the Day

“O Lord, the one who serves You best is not so anxious to hear from You what he wants as to want what he hears from You.”

— St Augustine

The Springfield Reformed Church remains committed to the following:
  • The authority of the Bible
  • The supremacy of Christ
  • Textual, Bible-based preaching
  • The time-tested protestant confessions of faith
  • God-centered and God-honoring worship
  • Evangelizing the lost
  • Sincere hospitality
  • A worldview that recognizes the lordship of Christ over all things
